Legal & Policy Requirements
Is the waiver required to attend the course?
Yes. The timely submission of a signed Release and Waiver of Liability is absolutely mandatory for participation in any ODI training course.
Given the inherently high-risk nature of the subject matter — including, but not limited to, the use of firearms, live training exercises, and tactical movement — no individual will be permitted to attend or engage in course activities without a fully completed and signed waiver on file.
Participants are required to submit their executed waiver no less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled course commencement.
⚠️ Failure to meet this requirement will result in the automatic forfeiture of your registration and course fee. No exceptions shall be granted. No refunds shall be issued.
This policy is in place to protect the safety of all participants, instructors, and the integrity of the training environment.
We urge all attendees to complete and submit the waiver as soon as it is received to ensure full compliance and eligibility.
What happens if I don’t submit the waiver in time?
If your waiver is not submitted at least twenty-four (24) hours before the course start time, your enrollment will be canceled and your course fee forfeited — with no refunds or rescheduling offered.
We understand emergencies can arise, but our courses have limited capacity, safety considerations, and require significant advance planning.
We appreciate your understanding and strict adherence to this policy.
Can I get a refund or reschedule if I miss the course?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the nature of our operations and limited course availability, missed sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We encourage all registrants to carefully review the course schedule and plan accordingly.
Firearms & Gear
Is prior firearms experience required?
Not necessarily. Our instructors tailor the training to your skill level, whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen advanced tactics.
Do I need to own a firearm to take the course?
It depends on the course:
- For Intro to Firearms, you are not required to bring your own firearm. ODI will provide a training firearm for you to use during the session.
- For all other firearms courses, you are required to bring your own firearm in good working condition.
Participants are responsible for ensuring their firearm is:
- Compliant with California law
- In safe, functional condition
- Transported lawfully and securely
⚠️ Failure to bring a firearm to an advanced course may result in being turned away from training without refund.
If you’re unsure whether your course qualifies as “advanced,” please contact us in advance for clarification.
Will ammo be provided?
Yes — all necessary ammunition is included in your course fee.
What if I don’t have ear or eye protection?
ODI maintains a limited supply of loaner protective gear. If needed, we will provide you with appropriate eye and ear protection for the duration of training.
